Calling it “technical” doesn’t change what Canadians are experiencing. The economy has shrunk in 3 of the last 4 quarters, including two in a row.

Other G7 countries face the same global pressures, yet none are in recession.

This is the result of bad policy choices: higher taxes, anti-development laws, and growing deficits. Household savings are at two-year lows, food bank use has doubled since 2020, and 1/4 Canadians is now food insecure.

Excuses don’t fix economies. Canada needs a reset that restores growth, investment, and affordability.

Panic at the Liberal Party

It has been an interesting (and eventful) week on Parliament Hill to say the least.

Just hours before Chrystia Freeland was to release a Fall Economic Statement that was expected to crash through the $40 billion economic guardrail, the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister announced she had lost confidence in the Prime Minister.

Now, Canadians are stuck with a $62 billion deficit while the current government is imploding before our very eyes as several Liberals MPs voice their opposition and continue to call for the Prime Minister to step down.

The federal government has increased the carbon tax to $80 per tonne; squeezing every last dollar out of the wallets of everyday Canadians as it drives the cost-of-living through the roof.

Despite our efforts on the opposition benches, Canadians will continue to suffer through high taxes and high costs so long as the costly coalition remains in power.

We are listening to all Canadians from coast, to coast, to coast, and our team is dedicated to continuing our efforts to axe the tax on all goods to bring home lower prices, and to put a stop to perpetual inflationary spending.
