Reintroduce mandatory minimum sentences

November 12, 2025

The details in a recent case before the Supreme Court are appalling.

Two men were found with possession of literally hundreds of images and videos of children as young as three years old.

Instead of sending them away for a very long time, the Court used imaginary scenarios rather than the facts before them to issue this disgusting ruling.

Despite this, the the current government is more concerned with the Charter rights of child sexual abusers than the Charter rights of innocent children.

Conservatives would use the notwithstanding clause to reintroduce mandatory minimum sentences for possession of child sexual abuse material and ensure people like these before the court are in prison where they belong.
