Landlords should have a say in medical marijuana growth: MP McLeod
June 1, 2018
Cathy McLeod, Member of Parliament for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo, joins Bob Saroya, Member of Parliament for Markham Unionville, and host Tony Clement, Shadow Minister for Public Services and Procurement on The Blueprint: Canada’s Conservative Podcast to discuss MP McLeod’s Private Members’ Bill and the impending cannabis legalization.
Bill C-330 – An Act to amend the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (landlord consent) would have helped to provide security to landlords by requiring a landlord’s consent before medical marijuana plants could be grown on their property. Unfortunately, on May 30, Justin Trudeau’s Liberals voted this legislation down, leaving landlords unprotected from tenant grow-ops on their property.
